Palomar College Renovated Escondido Campus Unveiled Friday

Palomar College officials will unveil Friday the school's newly renovated Escondido campus.

The $10 million renovation took about one year and includes a new front entrance, a quad, more natural light, walkways with arches and re-texturing of the building plaster.

In addition, a tower was demolished and replaced, and new monument signs have been added on East Valley Parkway and Midway Drive.

The campus, at 1951 E. Valley Parkway, serves about 5,000 students. It's been open since 1990.

The renovation was funded by Proposition M, a $694 million bond measure approved by voters in November 2006.

College officials have scheduled a celebration for 1 p.m. Friday.
