New Park Coming to San Marcos!

Crews broke ground early Tuesday on $3.9 million Connors Park, a 4.7-acre recreation area in San Marcos that will feature a synthetic turf field and lighted tennis and basketball courts.

Near the center of the city and next to San Marcos Elementary, Connors Park will also include shaded picnic areas, a tot lot, restrooms and a concession stand.

Funding for the park, which is scheduled to open next spring, came from a state grant. It's named for Mary Young Connors, a San Marcos community leader and former elementary school teacher.
