Carharrt uses ID.me for online verification of military discounts. That means in order to access the discount, you’ll need to create an account with ID.me and verify your military, first responder, or nursing status. Some individuals may be able to verify this directly online, while others may need to upload the required eligibility forms. Once ID.me verifies your military status, you’ll be eligible to receive 25% off your order.

Are spouses and family members eligible for the Carhartt discount?

The Carharrt website isn’t clear about this on their military discounts page. It’s possible they may offer the reduction at in-store locations if you have a dependent ID card. However, only the veteran would be able to verify military service via ID.me unless they shared their password with you.

Carhartt Products

Carhartt is known for its outerwear offerings. In addition to durable and warm jackets and coats, the company also produces bibs, coveralls, pants, hoodies, and sweatshirts for men, women, and children. Their products are great for work and outdoor activities, and their quality products will last years.

Founding of the Brand

Founded in Detroit in 1889, Carhartt got its start in Detroit when Hamilton Carhartt set out to make rugged work clothes for manual laborers. In its early days, the company made do with just two sewing machines and five employees. Now, they employ more than 4,000 people. True to its humble origins, the company’s first motto was, “Honest value for an honest dollar.”

Initially, the brand focused on producing clothing for railroad workers who needed something durable, warm, and long-lasting. To meet that goal, Hamilton Carhartt worked hand-in-hand with railroad workers to make sure his products fit their needs. By 1909, they had locations in nine cities, including the UK and Canada.

More than 100 years later, the brand’s commitment to quality remains the same. All of Carhartt’s apparel is sewn with heavy-duty thread and features reinforced rivets at stress points.

The company is still family-owned by descendants of founder Hamilton Carhartt.

Carhartt Values

Carhartt is a proud supporter of what the company calls “blue-collar organizations” like the Future Farmers of America organization, along with rodeos, and work training programs like Helmets to Hardhats.

Carhartt also sponsors programs that offer on-the-job training and experience to young people who might not otherwise have access to those resources.
